We offer this field trip to fourth grade students, and have carefully designed the experience to align with fourth grade Social Studies standards.

Upon arrival, students enjoy the field trip in four groups, each of which rotate among four learning modules during their stay. Topics of interest that are explored include “A Hunt through History” (a scavenger hunt in our museum), “The Past and Future of Cramerton” (in which students design their own “vision” of what the future may bring for our small town), and many other interesting lessons in the history and legacy of Cramerton and the Gaston region.

The field trip is hosted in our Cramerton Historical Society Museum, at 1 Julian Ave. in Cramerton. Upon booking a field trip, schools are provided with a plethora of information regarding parking and then enjoying other parts of our town after the field trip visit.

CHS is proud to provide this field trip to all schools and students at $0 cost! There is no prep that is needed ahead of time (other than brining bagged lunches if you plan on staying in town for a picnic lunch on our island park!) We provide all materials – pencils, clipboards, work packets . . . even a snack! Just bring your teachers and your students and get ready to enjoy your day in Cramerton.
